In 1999, Mr. Brown formed a non profit entity called Maximum Performance Basketball School. He realized many youth had set their sights on a professional basketball career but were unaware of the basketball and life skills necessary to succeed. Mr. Brown, who played basketball professionally in Europe, realized that youth, even with dedicated parents, need an adult who could emphasize morals, values and character. Mr. Brown has created a curriculum designed to shore up families who are raising youth in today’s society where abnormal behavior is often deemed as normal. The curriculum outlines the pitfalls of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, teen parenting and criminal behavior and provides a positive alternative. The youth are taught cause and consequence and are guided through their most challenging years by mentor/coaches who take a personal interest in their daily lives.

We are in constant need of donations to address the growing demand to help youth who do not have the resources to pay for the program.

Current donors include: U. S. Department Of Justice in conjunction with Project Safe Neighborhoods, Greater Dallas Crime Commission, Dallas Police Department, Larry Ingram, owner and operator of McDonald’s, and Ben Hasan, Dell Computers.
